Re: Plans to close 15 out of Surrey's 22 police stations

strange that when the POLICING MINISTER Mr Nick Herbert (about as high up as you can go) visited Woking Police Station last June he did not seem concerned with any of what you raise He wouldn't have been told. You don't get to be a Chief Constable by saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Like I...

Re: Can PCSOs issue FPN for failure to display excise?

who made the decision to use them instead of police officers? Chief officers up and down the country, (a) because of the funding incentive already referred to, and (b) the political pressure from the Home Office - forces were REQUIRED to introduce Neighbourhood Policing Teams, and there simply were...

Re: Can PCSOs issue FPN for failure to display excise?

we need the P in PCSO to distinguish from these small amount of worthy but altogether different employees :P But not with a capital "P" as part of the title... and it doesn't explain why in some forces (e.g. Warwickshire, Sussex) the CSOs are almost indistinguishable from police officers, or why th...

Re: Parking on grass verge

Down to by laws eh! Some of us down our road haven't understood why some motorists get a ticket for parking on the grass while others don't. The theory is easy... all TROs apply to the road, or "highway". It's true that, in urban areas, it will be building line to building line, because generally i...

Re: Can PCSOs issue FPN for failure to display excise?

I''ve searched the lists of PCSO powers, both acting as PCSO and acting as a Traffic Warden and I can't see anything that says they can issue this type of notice, ie one under S33 (1) of Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994. In Avon & Somerset, all CSOs are also designated as Traffic Wardens, a...

Re: Plans to close 15 out of Surrey's 22 police stations

Update As a consequence of the spending cuts, every single one of Surrey's police stations is to close . Members of the public will, under the new arrangements, be able to talk to officers at accommodation in other buildings, including local authority offices and commercial premises such as superma...

Re: police officer filmed using bolt cutters on clamp

"The WPC parked her car illegally near he Pheasant pub in Ashford, Kent..." No. If it was on a walkway, then it couldn't be parked "illegally" (contrary to law). If she had parked illegally, then the clamping company, PCS, couldn't have clamped it legally. The force could have proceeded against the...
