Re: Who Is This Man?
You wouldn't fit into our new Discos NH, they've all got G36 sized lock boxes down the middle of the seats. In fact all our AFOs are having to do their vests up so tightly they're all 7'6" tall with 22" waists. In fact they're all having to go back to LR to have sunroofs fitted. The cars t...

Re: Traffic wardens facing deportation after raid
A bit late in replying to this, but this could well be the natural consequence of local authorities taking on this role as opposed to the Police. There may well also be a little left-wing social engineering going on here.

Re: Driver blames UFO for failure to pay parking fine
16 years as a TW and I thought I'd heard it all... LMAO! On a similar theme, but with the boot slightly on the other foot, I'm sure nighthawk remembers a certain ex-colleague of ours who, after a prolonged period of sick leave, was asked by his Inspector at his back to work interview: "So, D**...

Re: 90-year-old given black eye in row with police officer
Just after the attempt to detonate a Jeep at Glasgow Airport, all roads that gave access to the area directly in front of the Terminals at Manchester Airport were closed to general traffic. There were so many yellow signs telling drivers to use the car parks and that the first 15 minutes were free o...

Re: Westminster Traffic Wardens (CEOs!!) 2009
It's a bit of an old story. You do something wrong; something you know is wrong and when you get caught, blame the person who caught you. And then abuse them. I was on a course with a chap who'd been one of the first Parking Attendants in Greater Manchester and later joined GMP as a Warden. He told ...

Re: Who Is This Man?
I'd like to know what his medals are. He probably served during WW2. It's amazing how many ex-servicemen took on jobs that required them to wear uniforms after they came out of the Services. As a matter of interest, we've just aquired a new dog.....now called Eric. Actually, that wasn't very interes...

Manchester; if anyone's interested. All 10 Metropolitan Boroughs provide their own enforcement of Waiting Regs., either throu...

Re: Sikh police officer refused to remove his turban
I haven't heard about this case. There was a Sikh P.C. working for GMP a good 10 years ago and I'm not aware of him going to an Industrial Tribunal. I think there is a culture within all sections of Uniform life within the UK, be it the Police or Armed Forces. In the Forces, tall people are often kn...
