The withdrawal of traffic wardens from Aberystwyth
The withdrawal of traffic wardens from a quiet seaside town has caused road rage and traffic chaos. RAC NEWS 14 June 2011 Since the old-style traffic wardens were laid off, there has been a lot of illegal parking in the peaceful town of Aberystwyth making some of the roads impassable. At least one f...

Re: Plans to close 15 out of Surrey's 22 police stations
strange that when the POLICING MINISTER Mr Nick Herbert (about as high up as you can go) visited Woking Police Station last June he did not seem concerned with any of what you raise instead he announced "we need to make sure taxpayers get value for money for the many billions of pounds that goes int...

Re: Can PCSOs issue FPN for failure to display excise?
There's nothing wrong with a uniformed community role per se, but not instead of police officers who made the decision to use them instead of police officers? There's a growing backlash from the public over the fact that they don't actually seem to do very much by way of dealing with crime and publ...

Re: Can PCSOs issue FPN for failure to display excise?
hi OldWilliam great to see you here :) the trouble is there are quite a few roles e.g. council, social services where the job is termed 'community support officer' nothing to do with helping police but altogether more towards a social community service that the local authority is maintaning we need ...

Re: Plans to close 15 out of Surrey's 22 police stations
OldWilliam WELCOME to the site you seem pretty uptight about the Chief Constable's plans Our national police force is fundamentally flawed. The proposed cuts will simply compound the problem. Call it what you will but by the time the dust has settled, policing in this country will be barely recognis...

OldWilliam WELCOME to the site
Interestingly where I live in Surrey, the local "response cops" are increasingly being issued with TASER as there standard issue sidearm and as they for the majority of the time are SINGLE MANNED I totally agree that they should have it

Re: do you need driving lic and insurance FOR THIS?
OldWilliam WELCOME to the site :D 'I'm not unhappy with my punishment, just surprised,' he said. 'It needn't have gone to court. Possibly the police arrested me for something to tell the grandchildren.' I think the Police saw a set of circumstances in which a power of arrest was plainly obvious A) h...
